2026 Top 100 MLB Prospects
Baseball America’s latest update to our Top 100 Prospects is here.
Our annual May update is our first full Top 100 adjustment each season, and it features our prospect team working through each and every ranking to reflect what has happened so far in 2026.
Here at BA, we view every Top 100 update as the latest culmination of our year-round efforts to both show how prospects are perceived by the industry and project who will produce in the future.
Construction of the Top 100 is a lengthy, detailed process involving industry feedback from MLB scouts, coaches, analysts and front office officials, as well as plenty of internal debate among BA staff. We make sure to watch players in person as often as possible and utilize as much data as we can find. The Top 100 also relies on the extensive reporting done to produce our Top 30 Prospects rankings and the Baseball America Prospect Handbook.
Players in the Top 100 are ranked for their long-term MLB impact, with allowances for the risk that they may fall short of that ceiling. Tool grades represent future estimations for the best stretch of players’ projected big league careers.
Players are eligible for the Top 100 if they have not exceeded 130 MLB at-bats, 50 innings pitched or 30 pitching appearances. Prospects who have yet to accrue at least 45 days of active MLB service as determined by BA are also eligible for inclusion. Players who come to the U.S. as “foreign professionals” as defined by the MLB CBA are not eligible to be ranked.
