Primaries will be held on June 9. Polls on this page reflect the first round of a ranked-choice ballot.
Senator Susan Collins, the last Republican remaining in New England’s congressional delegation, is running for re-election. Her campaign will test whether a G.O.P. moderate can still hold ground in a state that voted against President Trump in all three of his races — Kamala Harris carried Maine by just under seven percentage points. Collins will be relying on cross-party voters in November, a group that has largely disappeared from national politics.
The presumptive nominee on the Democratic side is Graham Platner, an oyster farmer and veteran. Platner had previously been facing Gov. Janet Mills in the Democratic primary, but she dropped out of the race in late April after months of trailing Platner in the polls.
